Many old machines were equipped with hard disks (and diskette drives) which are formatted with 256 bytes/sector. This format has been discontinued by nearly all manufacturers of disk drives.

But don't worry ...

We have a complete range of drives (SCSI HDD/IDE HDD/FLOPPY/...) available from stock which can be use as a replacement disk.

We also provide solutions to format/backup/restore any disk on PC.

READ NON-DOS DISK ON PC

In addition to OS9MAX we provide Low-Level Driver which allows to read other NON-PC Disks on PC. We supply functions for Borland Delphi and C-Builder which allows to access the NON-PC disks at sector level.

THE TOTAL OS-9 BACKUP SOLUTION

BACKUP OS-9 DISKS TO PC HARDISK, NETWORK OR CD-ROM

OS9MAX allows to backup OS-9 disk devices to PC. The OS-9 disk will be linked
via TCP/IP network to the PC. As an option you may also connect the OS-9 disk
directly to the PC mass storage controller.

SAVE YOUR OS-9 DISKS ON CD-ROM

Do you know how long your hard disk will work properly ? What happens to your company if old tape backups are defective and not readable ? We have developed a new PC hosted backup method for OS-9 media. Our method allows to backup all kind of OS-9 media such as hard disk, SyQuest cartriges, PC cards, PCMCIA cards, and diskettes on CD-ROM. We are using a standard PC with a network card and a CD-ROM recorder for creating the CD-ROM. The complete OS-9 disk will be transferred via TCP/IP network to the PC hard disk by typing a single command on the PC side. A complete OS-9 media will be stored in a single file on the PCs hard disk. OS9MAX64IM software is capable of interpreting the disk backup file as an OS-9 media. This allows to work on your OS-9 media under Windows. You may copy data (files and directories from your OS-9 backup to the PC hard disk (read) and vice versa (write). As soon as the file has been saved to CD-ROM it is a read-only device. You may combine any number of OS-9 media (but less than 700 MB) on a single CD-ROM.
